TSN 690 belongs to one of the three radio formats for sports. It was folded in 2002. The radio station shifted to official sports branding in 2011. The radio station is based in Rene Levesque Boulevard, Montreal. The offices and studios are strategically located in Montreal.
History of TSK 690
TSN 690 has a history that dates back to late 1950s. It was founded by Geoff Stirling. The station began at a frequency of 980 kHz. It was a full-time 10000 watts class B radio station. A lot of people recognized TSN 690 for its directional antenna. The station broadcasted programs in different patterns. May it be day or night, the programs were broadcasted in a wide range of patterns. Few years later, the station moved to 850 AM. This was when the station specialized in music! TSN 690 has experienced many changes! It was owned by several companies, was broadcasted in many frequencies and had many brand names. It became TSN 690 in the year 2011. And, Bell Media acquired the station in 2013.
Programs and Personalities of TSN 690
TSN 690 specializes in many local varieties. On weekdays, the radio station airs a wide range of local shows. Late night programs include ESPN Radio. And, all weekends and evenings are filled with TSN Radio programs. Some of the station’s top local shows would be Mitch Melnick’s Melnick in the Afternoon and Chris Nilan’s Off the Cuff. The Montreal Forum is an all-sports radio show that attracted hundreds of local listeners. Another interesting show in TSN 690 would be the Morning Show by Shaun Starr, Rick Moffat and Conor Mckenna. All these shows were meant for Montreal Canadians. They were planned with an interesting Canadian twist!
